My name is maranda. I live in Toronto and study philosophy. I am 21 years old. I am interested in language, gender, science, politics, histories,and literature. conventional relationships are generally unhealthy and always absurd, although sometimes pleasant. I love my sisters and think about them every day.I have few friends and I care deeply for them. As for authors and philosophers: Beauvoir, Herman Hesse, Franz Kafka, Kundera, David Foster Wallas, Anna Banti, Wolf, Leonard Cohen, Sartre, Nietzsche, Dostyevsky and Vonnegut. Currently listening to: Leonard Cohen (I will die still listening to this man), Julie Doiron, Modest Mouse, Broken Social Scene, Blow, Nick Cave, Elani Mandell, Sinead/Tori/Difrano(yeah, you know it), Against Me, My dad. I write poetry, songs and stories, and pluck at my guitar from time to time. I enjoy singing almost as much as I enjoy sleeping. I care about people and try to approach them lovingly or at least carefully. However, i often feel disconnected, disillusioned and disheartened. In my thoughts and actions, I contradict myself frequently and am often confronting such contradictions. I am very interested in what people feel, think and mean and am generally up for a conversation that is mentally and emotionally engaging. I like laughing hard and despite all the snobbery and seriousness above, I am a pretty silly person.
